New Recreational & PDA Director
With Rose Bermudez moving onto a new career outside of youth soccer, SSA is happy to announce that Scotty Bearden will be taking over the role effective immediately!
A letter from our new Rec/PDA Director:
Dear SSA Coweta Families,
My name is Scotty Bearden, and I am your new Recreational and PDA Director. I am excited to be a part of the continued growth and success of our Coweta location. At SSA, we use a combination of skill training, game fundamentals and fun to give our players the most educationally rich and enjoyable experience possible. We aim to give our players the confidence they need to take on the challenge of learning a new skill until they are comfortable enough to repeat it on their own. All our coaches strive to give all their players the tools and support they need to succeed on the field all while having fun! We offer leagues for all skill levels and offer additional guidance to those that are interested in moving from Recreational to Player Development Academy or Academy.
I bring to Southern Soccer Academy over 20 years coaching experience in recreational, academy (6-12 year olds) and select programs as well as over 15 years of administrative experience. I also have extensive playing experience which allows me to share my love of the game with players of all ages. I currently coach 2 Southeastern Club Champions League (SCCL) teams and am a staff coach for the Coweta Academy boys.
I plan to carry on the successful Recreational and Player Development Academy programs that are currently in place. Using your input to guide me, I will strive to make improvements over time, but there are no plans to change anything at present, so please don’t be concerned about that. My goal is to continue to provide the best possible experience at SSA for you and your family as we develop friendships, skills, and memories on the fields while attaining individual player growth throughout the season.
I look forward to meeting you all, and I am always available to answer any questions or address any concerns you might have about our programs. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
